CHANTILLY, Va. – December 20, 2022 All Traffic Solutions awarded a Shield 12 radar speed signs to the Maple Park Police Department in Illinois through the company’s ATS Gives Back initiative.
Over the years, All Traffic Solutions found that police departments in smaller communities have a need for All Traffic Solutions signs but lack the necessary funds and do not qualify for grants. The ATS Gives Back goal is to bridge this gap by donating radar speed signs to communities in need each month. ATS Gives Back recipients also receive a subscription to TraffiCloud®, All Traffic Solutions’ patented traffic device, and data management system.
The Maple Park Police Department has six sworn officers to serve and protect over 1,400 citizens across 2.16 square miles of their small village in Illinois. Maple Park Village has some newer subdivisions, with two main roads to enter and exit the subdivisions. Since the subdivisions do not have sidewalks yet, the families and young children who live in those subdivisions must walk on the roads. The Shield 12 Radar speed sign serves as a visual speed deterrent for vehicles entering and exiting the neighborhoods to keep their community safe.
“The radar speed sign will be a fantastic educational tool advised motorists of their speeds in the different neighborhoods in Maple Park. We can also post the radar speed signs in various areas of the village in response to complaints of speeding vehicles.” said Maple Park Police Department Chief David Krull. “The radar speed sign awarded to us through the ATS Gives Back program will also allow the Maple Park Police Department to conduct traffic studies of streets to improve safety on those streets. Being a recipient of the ATS Gives Back program is not only beneficial to the Maple Park Police Department but also to the residents and visitors to Maple Park.”
