The ATS Wrong Way Detection and Alert System detects vehicles traveling the wrong way down highway exit ramps and other one-way roadways.
The system works even when entrance and exit ramps are located right next to each other. The system helps to prevent these situations from escalating by first triggering a LED message to the driver telling them they are going the wrong way and to stop. If the driver proceeds past the message sign another sensor confirms the vehicle traveling in the wrong direction and an alert is sent to designated responders via text message to deploy to the scene and attempt to stop the vehicle.
