CHANTILLY, Va. – January 30, 2023 All Traffic Solutions (ATS) awarded a Shield 12 radar speed sign to Harrisville Borough Police Department in Pennsylvania through the company’s ATS Gives Back initiative.
All Traffic Solutions is committed to creating safe streets and neighborhoods across the country with their products and software. Over the years, ATS found that police departments in smaller communities have a need for All Traffic Solutions signs but lack the necessary funds and do not qualify for grants. The ATS Gives Back goal is to bridge this gap by donating a radar speed sign to a community in need each month. The Harrisville Borough Police Department is located in the rural town of Harrisville, 57 miles north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With a population of just over 800 residents, the police department has a dedicated force consisting of three full-time sworn officers. The department, under the leadership of Chief Jeff Hollidge, recently applied to the ATS Gives Back program with the hope of curbing speeding issues in their community. In addition to their application, they garnered impressive backing from their community, evidenced by six letters of support submitted by local businesses. These letters stand as a testament to the community’s collective desire for safer streets in Harrisville.
Today, the department’s new Shield 12 radar speed sign is making a positive impact on the town’s roadways. Chief Hollidge is thrilled with the results, stating, “the unit has been working pretty well for us. I think overall that the traffic has shown a good response to the unit and is allowing for safer roadways. We are very excited for its continued use and positive impact within our community.”
